Food Vendors line Marine Park at Sippin’ On The River this weekend

This weekend we attended a local event in our town to see what grub and drinks we could find for some soiree menu inspiration! We were delighted with Red Bank Flavour‘s  Sippin’ On The River at Marine Park in Red Bank, New Jersey. Local Restaurants came together to present some amazing festival fare for residents who could enjoy a cold beer or wine as they overlooked the gorgeous Navesink River and listened to live music…

Red Bank Flavour’s event brought crowds out both Saturday and Sunday (despite the clouds and rain!). We absolutely loved the location of the event. Literally overlooking the Navesink River, our favorite restaurants set up shop and were creating amazing dishes that we’ll (try to) take back to our own kitchens!

The Restaurants We Loved:

  • DISH: Serving up their classic Lobster Rolls and London Broil Sandwiches, the staff at DISH made a great impression on the crowd both Saturday and Sunday!
  • The Bistro: The Gyro choices at The Bistro were amazing – not to mention huge!! Gryos make great festival food – easy to carry and eat while walking around the event!
  • Front Street Trattoria: Grilled bruschetta, mozzarella and veggies were coming from the Front St. Trattoria’s tent – these sandwiches smelled just as good as they tasted!
  • The Lusty Lobster: If you were craving seafood, this was the tent to stop at! The folks from Lusty Lobster had it all and it was a hit with the crowds.

What We Want to See Next Time: In it’s first year Sippin On the River created a wonderful event that added a unique touch with it’s location. Next year, we’ d love to see that space utilized even better with more tables an chairs set up alongside the river to really allow guests to get the full experience of the scenery! We would have love to have seen a huge sign at the street leading to the entrance to the Marine Park, to grab the attention of passing locals or those unfamiliar with the town looking for the event.

All in all we loved this added festival to Red Bank’s already impressive event schedule for the summer. We’ll be back!!
