Red, White & Blue Summer Dining

May 21, 2015 by Ashley Willis

When celebrating our amazing country and the men and women in the service, we always need to make our table setting as patriotic as possible! At our Red, White & Blue Dinner Soiree, we set up outside on the patio for a dinner at sunset! Take a look!

The Table Setting

Look around your home to see what red, white and blue items you already have. Chances are you own these items already, and just need to coordinate your tablescape with existing pieces! With your dishes, place-mats, wine glasses and napkins create your very own patriotic palette! We also picked up tiny American flags from our local Dollar Tree for an added pop of color on our table.

DIY Party Banner

Using ribbon, tissue paper and tape we created a party banner to dress the side of the house with more red, white and blue. Simply cut long strips of tissue paper, bunch together and drape over the ribbon. Use clear tape to hold each bushel of tissue paper together. Very easy to make and can quickly add color to an otherwise bland wall.

Unique Summer Treats

In the spirit of summer, we had to serve roasted marshmallows for dessert. For a unique twist, we took each lightly roasted marshmallow and drizzled with chocolate or caramel sauce. From there we topped with crushed graham crackers, Heath Bars, or chocolate chips. The presentation will wow-guests!
