With Super Bowl around the corner, it is time to get your party menu in gear! A month into our healthy, happy new year, we have been keeping up with our healthy resolutions. Now that one of the first gatherings of the new year arises, so do the temptations. Super Bowl parties can be filled with fatty food, so instead of declining to that Sunday party we are reinventing our party favorites. Today, we show you Broccomole.
While reading Fitness Magazine this month, we came across this recipe of broccomole. Regular guacamole is loaded with fat from the avocados, though it is a good fat doesn’t mean we can finish the Tostitos with it! So Fitness had the great idea of cutting the amount of avocados in the guac recipes and replacing them with steamed broccoli and the final result is just as delicious, if not more, as the original.
1 ripe avocado
1 medium size broccoli head, steamed
1 packet of Ortega guacamole seasoning
Once the broccoli crown is steamed, cool completely and put into food processor. Add diced avocado and seasonings. Pulse until smooth. Refrigerate for two hours, then serve. Broccomole is lighter and airy compared to the traditional. So yummy while saving tons of calories!
