DIY Summer Beer Cooler

July 6, 2015 by Amanda Willis

We do our fair share of outdoor entertaining in the summer! We want our guests to enjoy the beautiful weather so it is important as a host to make sure all party necessities are readily available. Rather than running back and forth in to the house, to the kitchen, we make sure food, drink and party wares are in an arms reach.

Ashley and I love to play around with chilling our beer, wine and signature cocktails in unique ways. I’m pretty sure we don’t even own a cooler, because between the decorative chillers and buckets to the homemade coolers we’ve created over the years, gone are the days of needing a rolling, eye sore of a cooler.

And yes, you may be thinking that this idea isn’t new, but it is so easy, I couldn’t help but write about it. It is wheelbarrow cooler that has been circling Pinterest for a while now and I had to try it out for myself. Not only did this take 10 minutes to do, there are so many other possibilities to try once the party is over.

Garden, fire pit, waterfall, planter, the list goes on! See The Sisters’ Soiree version of the Wheelbarrow Summer Cooler.

  • Start with an old wheelbarrow

  • Spray paint it a color of your choosing

  • Let dry and fill with beer and ice!

The wheelbarrow cooler is the perfect addition to any backyard barbecue where beers and cocktails are within arms reach.

Happy Entertaining!
